Her stage name Bea is a tribute to her father. She wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 about her experiences dealing with suicide. Bea's mother Helen was also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey was in charge of the care of her daughter as well as Sinead. Her family were obsessed with racing and horses. Bea was a guide at the Irish National Stud in her early years. She knew, however it wasn't something she wanted to pursue for a living and that she was more interested in doing.
